Instagram Integration Guide

Overview

Connecting your Instagram account to StarLovin lets you schedule and publish Reels, and use auto-repost to repurpose content from other platforms. You can customize captions, hashtags, and Instagram-specific settings for each post.

Connecting Your Instagram Account

1. Click your avatar at the bottom of the sidebar and select Channels.
2. Click New Channel to open the platform selection.
3. Select Instagram.
4. You'll be redirected to Instagram's authorization page. Sign in and approve the requested permissions.
5. Your account will appear in the channels list with an active status.

You can connect multiple Instagram accounts if you manage more than one.

What You Can Do

Schedule Posts

Create and schedule Instagram Reels to publish at specific times. When composing a post, Instagram-specific settings include:

• Caption — Add your text, #hashtags, and @mentions (up to 2,200 characters).
• First Comment — Automatically post a comment right after publishing (great for extra hashtags or CTAs).
• Share to Feed — Choose whether your Reel also appears on your profile grid.
• Trial Reel — Share to non-followers first and let performance determine if it reaches your followers.

Auto-Repost

Instagram can be used as both a source and a destination for auto-repost workflows:

• As a source — Pull your existing Instagram Reels and repost them to other platforms.
• As a destination — Automatically repost content from TikTok, Facebook, or another Instagram account as Reels.

Disconnecting Your Instagram Account

1. Go to Channels from the avatar menu.
2. Click Remove next to the Instagram account.
3. Confirm in the dialog.

Important: Removing a channel deletes all associated data in StarLovin, including scheduled posts and repost history. This cannot be undone. Your Instagram account and its content are not affected.

You can reconnect at any time by adding the channel again.

Permissions

When you connect Instagram, you're asked to allow StarLovin to:

• View your profile information.
• Publish content on your behalf.
• Manage comments on your posts.

StarLovin only uses these permissions for the features described above. We do not access your direct messages or follower data.

Troubleshooting

My channel shows as inactive Your Instagram authorization may have expired. Click Refresh next to the channel to re-authorize.

My scheduled post failed to publish Check that your channel is still active and that the content meets Instagram's requirements (e.g., video format, aspect ratio). Failed posts show an error message when you hover over the status.

I connected a personal account instead of a business account Instagram's publishing features require a Business or Creator account. Switch your Instagram account type in the Instagram app, then reconnect in StarLovin.
