YouTube Integration Guide
Last Revised: March 25, 2026
Overview
Connecting your YouTube channel to StarLovin lets you schedule and publish Shorts, and use auto-repost to repurpose content from other platforms. You can customize titles, descriptions, tags, and compliance settings for each upload.
Connecting Your YouTube Channel
- Click your avatar at the bottom of the sidebar and select Channels.
- Click New Channel to open the platform selection.
- Select YouTube.
- You'll be redirected to Google's sign-in page. Choose the Google account associated with your YouTube channel and approve the requested permissions.
- Your channel will appear in the channels list with an active status.
What You Can Do
Schedule Posts
Create and schedule YouTube Shorts to publish at specific times. When composing a post, YouTube-specific settings include:
- Title — Give your Short a title (required).
- Description — Tell viewers about your Short.
- Tags — Add keyword tags to help with discoverability.
- Category — Choose a content category (e.g., Entertainment, Education, Gaming).
- Visibility — Set to Public, Unlisted, or Private.
- Made for kids — Indicate if the content is directed at children under 13 (required by COPPA).
- AI-generated content — Disclose if the content contains AI-generated material.
- Notify subscribers — Choose whether to send a notification to your subscribers when published.
Auto-Repost
YouTube can be used as a destination for auto-repost workflows. Automatically repost content from Instagram, TikTok, or Facebook as YouTube Shorts.
YouTube is not available as a source for auto-repost workflows.
Disconnecting Your YouTube Channel
- Go to Channels from the avatar menu.
- Click Remove next to the YouTube channel.
- Confirm in the dialog.
Important: Removing a channel deletes all associated data in StarLovin, including scheduled posts and repost history. This cannot be undone. Your YouTube channel and its content are not affected.
You can reconnect at any time by adding the channel again.
Permissions
When you connect YouTube, you're asked to allow StarLovin to:
- View your YouTube channel information.
- Upload and publish videos on your behalf.
- Manage your video settings (titles, descriptions, visibility, etc.).
StarLovin only uses these permissions for the features described above. We do not access your watch history, subscriptions, or comments.
Troubleshooting
My channel shows as inactive Your Google authorization may have expired. Click Refresh next to the channel to re-authorize.
My scheduled Short failed to publish Check that your channel is still active and that the content meets YouTube's requirements (e.g., vertical video, under 60 seconds for Shorts). Failed posts show an error message when you hover over the status.
I connected the wrong YouTube channel If your Google account has multiple YouTube channels, you may have connected the wrong one. Remove the channel and reconnect, selecting the correct channel during the Google sign-in step.
